When you contact us for a neuropsychiatric assessment for children, such as an ADHD assessment or autism assessment, we start by reviewing together what you need help with and what you expect from the assessment. Based on this, we create a joint plan for how the assessment will be carried out.<\/p>\n

Psychological Testing with the Child<\/h4><\/h4><\/div>The next step in the neuropsychiatric assessment for children is for our psychologist to meet with the child and conduct the planned tests. The testing takes place at our clinic, in a safe and calm environment.<\/p>\n
During the visit, an assessment of cognitive ability and other psychological tests are performed, which are adapted to the issue at hand, for example, in an ADHD assessment or autism assessment. The testing itself usually takes about three hours, but the time may vary depending on the child’s needs.<\/p>\n

Medical Assessment<\/h4><\/div>As part of the neuropsychiatric assessment for children, a medical assessment is performed at our private clinic . The doctor makes a medical and psychiatric assessment to rule out other conditions and to be able to determine any need for further support or treatment in addition to the planned NDD assessment.<\/p>\n
We try, as far as possible, to book the doctor’s visit on the same day as the psychological testing to make it easier for the family. The medical assessment itself takes about 45 minutes and takes place in a calm and safe environment.<\/p>\n
A medical assessment<\/em><\/strong> is performed, where the doctor makes a medical and psychiatric assessment. This is important to rule out medical and psychiatric conditions and to determine the need for help in addition to the planned assessment. The medical assessment is performed at our clinic, and we try to schedule it on the same day that the psychologist meets with the child. The doctor’s visit takes about 45 minutes.<\/p>\nWhen all parts of the assessment have been completed, the psychologist and doctor meet to review all the collected information. Feedback of the assessment results<\/h4><\/div>When the neuropsychiatric assessment is complete, a feedback meeting is booked with the psychologist who conducted the assessment. The feedback usually takes place on-site at our private clinic, but can also be held digitally.<\/p>\n
If necessary, the child or adolescent can receive their own feedback, where the psychologist reviews the results of the NDD assessment in a way that is adapted to the child’s age and understanding. The feedback takes approximately one hour.<\/p>\n
We also offer school feedback, where the psychologist presents results and recommendations to the school to facilitate adjustments in teaching.<\/p>\n
After the assessment is completed, you will receive a neuropsychiatric report \u2013 a written summary of results, assessment, and recommendations, both general and individually adapted.<\/p>\n
